Immunizations/Vaccinations
All new animals, especially puppies and kittens, should be isolated from other pets in the home until they are fully vaccinated, tested and de-wormed to prevent disease transfer to your healthy pets.
Vaccines
Vaccines prevent your pet from contracting life threatening diseases found in the environment and from other animals.
De-worming
Canine Roundworm
De-worming your pet will protect them from parasites that affect their gastrointestinal tract. Prevention of parasite infestation is crucial!
Many intestinal parasites can be
transferred to humans (zoonotic)!
Kittens and puppies should be dewormed at least three times, once every three weeks starting at 8 weeks of age. Because intestinal parasites do not shed eggs continuously, we require fecals every six months to aid in diagnosing infections. Monthly prescription heartworm preventative also de-worms for hookworms, roundworms and whipworms (Interceptor®).
*If your pet is outdoors, we recommend continuing dewormer every six months since collecting fecals is usually not feasible.
