Puppy Classes

Puppy Basic

All puppies under 10 months of age with at least 2 rounds of vaccinations including bordatella are welcome. Class includes information on raising a happy, well-adjusted puppy. Course topics include socialization, attention getting, and word association, encouraging positive behaviors, and discouraging unwanted behaviors. Commands covered include sit, down, leave it, come, wait, and stay. Other topics discussed will be: loose leash walking, jumping up, nipping, appropriate toys, manipulation and exercise. Focus of class is positive, reward based, training built on behaviorism theories. Goal is to create a healthy puppy owner relationship.

Puppy Advanced

Available to puppy basic alumni. Continues to build on basic foundation to increase proficiency of commands and decrease behavior problems. Course includes exercises with increased distractions, novel sights and sounds, stranger introductions, and in-motion drills. Goal of class is to strengthen the owner/dog bond through confidence building teamwork activities that couple commands with unique situations. These exercises increase trust and connection, which leads to greater command compliance and connection with owner.
