Hairy Donations Help Oil Spill Crisis

Did you know that fur and hair are very effective in soaking up oil?

Hair booms are created to surround, clean and aid in clean up of the oil spill. These hair booms are essentially matted hair stuffed into recycled nylon pantyhose. The best part about these booms is that they are made from recycled products and are environmentally friendly!

In response to this awesome bit of recycling knowledge, we are donating our groomers' trimmings through Matter of Trust to help clean up the oil spill in the Gulf. Through this effort, we are hoping to make a difference in rescuing the Gulf's wildlife population.

Matter of Trust

Matter of Trust is a San-Francisco based non-profit organization that has been excepting hair donations since 1998.

"A huge International Natural Fiber Recycling mobilization is currently taking place to help get hair boom to the Gulf Coast Spill. We have 19 donated warehouses spread along Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida that are receiving hair from donors all over the US, Canada and beyond!"
