Courtney Caton

Veterinary Assistant

Courtney began working here in June of 2006 as a kennel assistant before being promoted to a veterinary assistant while in high school.

Courtney is currently pursuing a degree in ICU/Critical Care Nursing in the human medical field. While Courtney enjoys working with animals her true passion is taking care of severely injured persons.

In her spare time, Courtney is a volunteer EMT with the local rescue squad where she started at the age of 16. This position provides her great joy and has helped her decide to pursue becoming a Flight Nurse.

When not at work, in school or on duty, Courtney can be found in her barn on their 40 acre horse farm, taking care of 17 boarder horses, in addition to her own pets. Courtney began riding at the age of 4, showing on the Hunter/Jumper circuit at the age of 8 where she was once ranked a top ranked rider on the Virginia Horse Show Association, and still competes to this day. The love of her life is her pony Gilligan.

Courtney menagerie consists of:

  • 17 cats: Arthur, Ariel, Badstuff, Bobbie, Bradley, Daisy, Gus, Homer, Jane, Lily, Max, Paulie, Petie, Pumpkin, Speedy, Swazey, Wilbur
  • 2 dogs: Billy & Molly
  • 1 snake: Elvis
  • 4 horses: Allie, Chips, Gilligan & Sonny
  • A few ducks and chickens
